Title: 'Tuning in'
As I was making the works I was thinking about the connection between two opposite states: fragmentation and integration.
Parts of ourselves that are lost through experience, the fragments, that ideally can be rediscovered and brought back and integrated, so we can feel whole. The basis of therapy and other healing spaces.
This felt relevant to my interest in exploring a landscape scene from my everyday life in its many guises - how it looks and feels at different times of day or night, with wind, sun, rain hitting it. I noticed with all the variable influences, the scene still holds a strong sense of character.
For this painting, I was looking at the shapes of the negative spaces, the sky peeking through the moving branches.
In the diamonds of air, I imagined I was seeing a collection of floating fragments waiting to be called back in.
Medium: Acrylic on linen.
Size: 101.6 cm x 91.5cm / 40 x 36 inches.
FRAMING
Unframed. This painting is currently unframed. A good option if you’d like to select your own framing or have the painting un-stretched prior to delivery for more economical shipping.
