Title: 'Tuning in'
While I was making this collection I was thinking about ideas of compartmentalisation and integration: two contrasting states of being that we move in and out of with varying degrees of ease.
I was listening to therapists talk about modalities of healing that aim to retrieve fragmented parts of ourselves that get lost during difficult experiences or prolonged periods of compartmentalisation. Through reclaiming these parts and integrating them we can start to feel good and whole.
On daily walks I was noticing the shapes of trees reaching across to each other, forming arches and open spaces that shift with the breeze. In these diamonds of air, I imagined I was seeing a collection of fragments floating around waiting to be called back in.
Medium: Acrylic on linen.
Size: 101.6 cm x 91.5cm / 40 x 36 inches.
FRAMING
Unframed. This painting is currently unframed. A good option if you’d like to select your own framing or have the painting un-stretched prior to delivery for more economical shipping.
