There are many options for framing — depending on your preference. I have had 2 pieces framed for ideas and convenience but decided to keep the rest unframed so that you can pick what suits your particular needs and preferences. {They are also easier to ship unframed}.
The last photo shows an example of framaing of pieces on linen with irregular edges and shapes mounted on foam core and floated behind glass in a raw Tasmanian Oak frame. I chose this option to highlight the irregular shapes and so the whole piece can be seen, edges and all.
Other options include matting and framing as you would for a print or work on paper. The matting would cover some of the edges where the painting is to the edge of the surface. The advantage of this style of framing is that you get a regular square or rectangle if you prefer a more regular uniform shape.
Border or matting width
With most options you can opt to add white space around the piece, creating either a small or large border.
If you like the intimacy of a small work you can go for a smaller matting area and keep the piece, including the frame, small.
If you prefer to have the small piece make a larger impact on the wall — filling more of the wall space — you could go for a larger matting area.
